The Heritage Herringbone (Raw plank)
(M² Required)
Total price: £52.00
Our Heritage Herringbone beautifully merges contemporary design with timeless elegance, creating a stunning floor that brims with texture and visual intrigue.
Meticulously handcrafted, the Heritage Herringbone exudes character with its distinct undulating surface texture and distressed, bevelled edges to emulate the look of a naturally aged wooden floor. This attention to detail in the craftsmanship is what truly distinguishes this flooring from the rest, for a truly organic, lived-in look.
Made from premium French oak, our herringbone planks are engineered with a tough eucalyptus multi-ply core and a tongue and groove installation system for a floor that's as durable as it is beautiful.
Our Heritage planks come with a lightly brushed surface texture to subtly accentuate the wood's natural grain.
We recommend finishing our Heritage planks with a simple natural oil to really bring out the natural character of the wood and provide optimal protection.

What's the difference?
Oil | Lacquer |
---|---|
Oil penetrates the wood, enhancing its colour and accentuating its natural grain and texture. This process results in a charming, authentic appearance. Oiled wood floors are considered to be less protected than lacquered ones, however they’re much easier to mend if they get scratched or stained. Unlike a lacquered finish, oil can be reapplied as a spot treatment, which will save you having to sand and refinish the entire floor if only a small area needs repairing. Another advantage of an oiled wood floor is its ability to be restored to pristine condition with a fresh coat of oil. The frequency of recoating depends on usage, but we suggest reapplying every 1-2 years. |
Lacquer sits on top of the wood and acts as a barrier against dirt particles and moisture. This makes it a popular choice as it's considered more resilient and resistant to spills than oil. However, it's important to remember that even lacquered floors can still be susceptible to damage from puddled water. Lacquered floors also highlight scratches more than oiled floors, and are therefore not recommended for pet owners. Lacquered floors are prized for their ease of maintenance, as unlike oiled floors they don't require frequent treatments. However, if damaged, they cannot be repaired in small areas; instead, the entire floor must be sanded and refinished. |
